Yes, you do need merchant account with Stripe to use SeoSamba POS. You can however use additional payment gateways as you see fit on your websites.
Do I need any special hardware to use SeoToaster POS?
No bulky or expensive hardware needed. Just use your smartphone, tablet, or computer to sell anywhere. All you need is the SeoSamba app, an internet connection and a Stripe account. You can add stripe card reader or rely on your smartphone contactless payment chip.
Is SeoSamba POS free?
Yes, SeoSamba POS is entirely free to use with your self-hosted (cloud hosting is also available here) SeoToaster eCommerce site in 2026. We will charge 1% of all transactions going through the POS starting in 2027.
How long does it take to set up?
Setup is fast and easy. You can start selling in minutes—download the app, create a cloud SeoToaster Ecommerce account (or download SeoToaster to your own server), connect your Stripe account, configure your products, and you're ready to go.

Does it work offline?
SeoToaster POS works best with an internet connection. Offline mode is only supported for cash sales. Once the internet connection si re-established, sales are synced up with the back-end of your store(s).
Is SeoToaster POS secure?
Yes. Transactions are processed securely through Stripe, a PCI-compliant provider. We never store credit card information on our servers.
